It’s a new day, the first day of outreach; and the bouncers, owners and the pimps come to mind as I begin to pray, "No Lord"....I cry out, "I blame them for the trafficked ladies that they control.”
I begin to read my Bible and I am reminded that Jesus, our Lord and Savior, cried as He hung on the cross and said, “forgive them for they know not what the do!”
We all have a void in our heart and the lies of the enemy come to steal, kill, and distort. We obey one or the other to carry out and be Lord of our life. My heart began to pray for the men that I have blamed, to release their fist and cling to the only God that saves.
We all need to be saved and in this moment I have deemed only the ladies worthy to be saved. Sounds a lot like Jonah in the Bible.
The first night I went out with Anchor of Hope, we went to 3 clubs. In the second club I began to talk with Mr. C. We engaged in a conversation and he asked what church I attended. I answered his questions and then I took it a step further and invited him and his wife to come. He said, "ME, I CAN COME"? I said, yes you can come to church. He asked Again, "I Can Come"? Yes You Can Come, I replied!!
The following month we continued our conversation which lead to the need for Jesus in our lives. He spoke very openly about family, marriage, and his plans to leave “the job.”
God is moving and hearts are being touched only by the Holy Spirit! Our job as Gods ambassadors: to be obedient. We all have a void in our heart created to be filled by His love! God is asking us to step out of our comfort zone and see people through His eyes, not our preconceived perspective. We get snap shots. The Lord sees from beginning to end. For He is the Alpha and the Omega!
I pray that the scales over others eyes will shed so that the truth will be seen! With new eyes, a renewed heart, and a new understanding of the plan and purpose that God has for each person, people can grow and thrive in Hope. No more bondage, no more suffering, no more lies. He who has an ear let him hear!
"He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him. Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods. Many, Lord my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare.” Psalms 40:3-5 NIV
This song is playing over and over in my mind. It’s an old hymn that I used to sing when I was a child.
